Apple Inc. argues that the inclusion of the formative letters of the surname MAC
-- constituting part of its own trademarks 'MAC', 'iMac'and 'MAC OS' --
in our trademark MACARAJA for identical or similar goods and services
may create a risk of confusion and/or association with its own marks,
therefore violating its rights.
Thus, Apple Inc. requests the cancellation of our mark MACARAJA. As far as we are concerned, to imagine that one could mistake our trademark MACARAJA for the Apple Inc trademarks is to think poorly of the basic customer.

For the record
Our own brand name, MACARAJA, mainly stems from the name given in South America to the 'otter cat' (Puma yagouaroundi, or 'jaguarondi' in French): MARACAJA, and from the title given to Hindu princes for its final phonetic: MAHARAJA. This is an alteration of the MARACAJA name, which sounds better when reversing the middle syllables, and is reminiscent of the Hindu prince name: MACARAJA (|ma|-|ka|-|ʀad|-|ʒa|) instead of MARACAJA.
